I spent a great day at Silverstone Racing Circuit last Sunday. It was the first round in the 2016 World Endurance Cars series. The 6 hour race saw over 30 cars on track split into four different classes, so effectively four races in one.
Before the race started we joined the grid walk. A lot of people and photographers were gathered around the Strakka Racing car 42 for fairly obvious reasons!
During the 6 hour race we went along to the Dunlop Tyre enclosure to see how all the tyres were prepared during the race.
There are several pit stops during the race as each car has three drivers necessitating driver changes as well as fuel top ups and new tyres
On the day we all thought the no. 7 Audi had won; a win which was short lived as it was disqualified during scrutineering. Audi are appealing.
All in all a great day, fantastic atmosphere and a chance to bag a few memorable photos
